Role:

Essential Experience:

Job description

I am currently working with a well established company based in Birmingham. They are looking for a Senior Test Analyst to join their Birmingham office on a permanent basis. You will be involved with hands-on testing and also reviewing/planning aspects of testing within this business. You will report into the Test Manager and be involved with both Manual and Automation testing tasks, so experience is both these areas is required. After time this position will take a focus around more automation projects so key experience in similar projects is a must have.

We are looking for a candidate to have extensive hands-on experience around XML (not necessarily coding ability) just a large amount of time focused on XML files etc. We are also looking for extensive web service testing tool experience, particular SoapUI if possible and use of automation tools (Selenium is preferable) You will be liaising with key stakeholders (from both IT and business focused departments) so excellent communication skills and ability to act as a bridge between IT and business is necessary in order to succeed. You will need to be ISEB/ISTQB certified in order to be considered for this position.

Keys Skills/Knowledge:

- Understanding of the creation and execution of test scripts 
- Good understanding of Test Automation tools (Selenium/QTP/UFT etc.) 
- Experience of Waterfall/Agile methodologies 
- Experience in using a test tool (such as ALM) to control Scripting and execution of tests

Previous experience of supporting payment platforms is absolutely essential, specific knowledge of the Postilion suite is highly desirable.This role will be responsible for providing on-call support, so it is essential that you are happy to work a 24/7 on-call rota. There will also be an element of travel to customer sites.

To be considered for this role you must have demonstrable experience of installing, configuring and supporting payment processing software applications in a production environment.

You will be working with clients to install, configure and support a suite of software products, installing code, making changes, deploying patches, identifying potential problems and proposing improvements to the SaaS model.

It is essential that you have solid SQL query skills, coupled with a good understanding of server architecture, ideally with knowledge of Windows and Linux/Unix, and the ability to recommend suitable designs for the build and/or modification of technical environments. It is expected that you will have a good understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, NTP, SSL/TLS, DNS, ideally with Cisco experience and broader networking.

A suitable candidate must have excellent customer management skills, with the ability to document activities, problems and procedures clearly, accurately and concisely. You will have the ability to effectively plan and multi-task in a complex and demanding environment, whilst be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
