A talented IT Project Manager has the chance to join one of the UK's leading innovate software and services companies based at their head off in Slough.

 The newly appointed Project Manager will part of a project team responsible for the delivery of migrations (data & applications), integration solutions and modernisation of software. 

The successful Project Manager must have experience with migrations from Legacy systems to new technologies across either data or software migrations. 

Essential Experience Required:

  • 5 years + Project Management experience within a software and services business
  • Management of project teams of 10 people plus - ideally with 3rd party interaction
  • Extensive experience using leading methodologies and processes (PRINCE2 and Agile)
  • Proven track record of delivering IT solutions from initiation through delivery, implementation and support
  • Background of delivering projects and solutions on time within budget

Job description

A great opportunity for a highly-able MI Analyst with experience developing reports in Business Objects This role will involve working with the wider MI team to learn processes and procedures and assist in day to day reporting and implementing improvements.

The time spent will be split between developing new reports and reporting capabilities in SSRS and SQL server management studio. The remaining time will be working with the MI BA's to migrate and streamline current data processes to fall in line with current approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and understand requirements for new SSRS reporting and Deliver new reports.
  • Assist MI BA's with project tasks during busy periods
  • Migrate 'Legacy' reporting to SSRS
  • Assist in Month end reporting
  • Develop business knowledge and technical skills to be able to provide support to MI BA's.
  • Ad hoc data requests
  • Produce clear and concise reports to analyze business activity
  • Any other duties as is reasonably requested.

Essential Criteria:

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SSRS; can clearly demonstrate knowledge on building reports to a high standard
  • Effectively uses and manipulates data from databases and IT. systems to produce qualitative data for the business
  • Requires strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL databases; can clearly demonstrate how to append write complex queries.
  • Strong business data analysis skills
  • Effectively interacts and communicates with clients and colleagues to understand what kind of information they need to produce it
  • Requires strong and relevant work experience gained in a similar role within the insurance industry (underwriting or broking)
  • The ability to work in a small team, coach peers and add value
  • The ability to prioritize stakeholder needs
  • To be here for the duration of the contract and particularly our busiest time of year; December - March

Preferred Criteria:

  • An understanding of insurance accounts such as P&L accounts and balance sheets
  • Understanding of SharePoint functionality
